It can, if no ‘organizational slack’ is considered, result in a continuously overcommitted organization. The logistics problem of human labor, to dynamically shift talent where the most value is, remains unsolved.
The focus here is on two related problems that are important yet unresolved: First, teams are not optimally assembled to create solutions to today’s problem. There is not yet a proven way to put together ideal teams fit for their purpose. Second, workforce logistics within an organization is not set up to add the most value. The search space is very narrow and (temporally) available skills are not transparent and therefore talent is not dynamically shifted to where it is needed most.
